Changes to the Tasmanian House of Assembly rules tabled on 15th November 2016 will allow female members to breastfeed while participating in the proceedings of the House.

We are excited to see strong leadership on breastfeeding by the Tasmanian Government. Workplace support for breastfeeding is crucial to help mothers continue feeding their babies when they return to work. This benefits everyone; mothers, babies, workplaces and the wider community.

Hopefully this progressive leadership will result in more positive changes for breastfeeding women. Every Tasmanian mother needs the opportunity and support to breastfeed as long as they wish.
